The Lahti Town Hall was designed the by Finnish architect Eliel Saarinen in 1911, and its construction was completed in 1912.
The large volume is located in an park area. It's composition is dominated by a large tower of plastic appearance.
The appearance of the building is marked by the use of dark bricks which were brought from Sweden.

In 1985 the building was remodeled.
