Diener & Diener - Switzerland
After finishing his studies at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich (ETHZ), Roger Diener (born 1950) entered the firm of his father Marcus Diener in 1976.
A few years later, the firm was renamed and became Diener & Diener in the year 1980. Today Diener & Diener architects have offices in Basel and Berlin.
Diener & Diener architects are well known for ther urban designs and apartment buildings, but also for buildings of various functions. The realization of the Swiss Embassy
in Berlin (2000) was much discussed by a general public, and the office received much international attention.
The office is internationally successfull, realizing works not only in Switzerland, but also in France, Austria, Germany, Netherlands, Italy, Sweden, Poland and Belgium.
Roger Diener has been teaching at the Ecole d'Architecture Poytechnique in Lausanne (EPFL) from 1986 to 1989 and at the ETHZ since 1999.
He was active as a Guest Lecturer at several international architectural universities and he was one of the four initiators of the ETH Basel Studio.
Roger Diener won several awards, including the Heinrich Tessenow Medal in 2011.
