The Auhof primary school and swimming pool in Zurich-Schwamendingen was built between 1955 and 1958 according to a design by Ernst Gisel. The school house is a continuation of the architectural and constructional considerations of the Letzi School, which was built only a short time before. Compared to its predecessor, the Aufhof school building has been significantly simplified. While the Letzi school house still had numerous different construction methods, this project is a pure brick building. As with the Letzi School, the Auhof school building also had to fulfill a comprehensive spatial program. The 16 classrooms, special rooms with a singing hall and gymnasium are spread over several structures. The cubic volumes with flat roofs are organized around a rectangular playground.

Das Primarschulhaus und das Freibad Auhof in Zürich-Schwamendingen entstand in den Jahren 1955 bis 1958 nach einem Entwurf von Ernst Gisel. Das Schulhaus gilt als Fortsetzung der architektonischen und konstruktiven Überlegungen des kurz zuvor erstellten Letzi Schule. Im Vergleich mit seinem Vorgänger wurde das Schulhaus Aufhof markant vereinfacht. Während das Letzi Schulhaus noch zahlreiche unterschiedliche Bauweisen aufwies, handelt es sich bei diesem Projekt um einen reinen Backsteinbau. Wie bei der Letzi Schule galt es auch beim Schulhaus Auhof ein umfassendes Raumprogramm zu erfüllen. Die 16 Klassenzimmer, Spezialräume mit Singsaal und Turnhalle sind auf mehrere Baukörper verteilt. Die kubischen Volumen mit Flachdächern sind um einen rechteckigen Pausenhof organisiert.
