The assurance company "Der Anker" commissioned Otto Wagner in the year 1894
to build an apartment and commercial building in the city centre of Vienna.
The first intention was to errect two buildings, in the end there was executed one larger building.
The Building permission was granted in 1894.
Noteworthy is the metropolitan impression of with the two story
commercial section and the foto studio on the roof.
