Hermann Herter - Switzerland

Hermann Herter was a Swiss architect and long-time municipal architect in the city Zurich. His tenure is marked by a very brisk construction activity.
With his work he made an important contribution to shape the modern city. At that time it was still common for a municipal architect to be allowed to build himself.
In the cityscape of Zurich, he has therefore created some buildings according to his own designs, which are still estimated today. After nearly 25 years working as a municipal architect,
he retired from office in 1942 due to his age. Hermann Herter died just two years later.
