As part of the decentralization of the Swiss Federal Tribunal the Canton of St. Gallen announced an open architectural competition, which was commissioned by the Federal.
Among a many competitiors, Staufer Hasler were selected as winner of the competition for the Federal Administrative Court building in 2005.The building was realized in the years 2008-2012.
The building forms the urban end of the Feldli district at the foothills of the Rosenberg. The public facilities (courtrooms) are arranged along a park, stretching to
the existing Villa Naef and puts them in a contrapuntal relationship to the tower building containing the stacked two-storey management units.
